New Hosts to Fill In on “The Wendy Williams Show”
Wendy Williams will not be returning to her eponymous talk show anytime soon due to medical issues.
In a social media post shared on Wednesday, 8 December, “The Wendy Williams Show” announced that new episodes for Season 13 are coming in January 2022, albeit with guest hosts in place.
Rappers Fat Joe and Remy Ma, actor Michael Rapaport, comedians Kym Whitley and Finesse Mitchell, and actress Sherri Shepherd will hold down the fort between 3 and 28 January.
It is unknown if Williams will return to the show in February, although an insider believes that “even if she did come back, she’d be a lame duck because her show isn’t renewed beyond this season.”
Last week, the 57-year-old – who suffers from an auto-immune body disorder known as Graves’ disease – was photographed leaving a wellness centre in Miami, Florida. A month prior, she explained in an Instagram post that she was slowly but surely recovering from a recent coronavirus infection.
She wrote: “I’m a woman of a certain age, and I know enough to listen to my doctors and will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree I’m ready.”
